Two attacked tea seller for refusing to deliver tea in Siliguri, boiling oil spilled over seller

Siliguri, 13th February: An unsettling incident has surfaced in Siliguri where a tea seller was allegedly attacked by two customers after declining to serve tea resulting in hot boiling oil spilling over the seller. The tea seller is currently undergoing treatment in the Siliguri District Hospital while the entire incident has been recorded on the CCTV camera.


According to reports, on February 11, two individuals ordered about 12 cups of tea from the ‘Chai Kaku’ tea stall located adjacent to the Bhutia Market area of Siliguri to be delivered near the Mahakuma Parishad. However, the tea seller refused to make the delivery, which resulted in a dispute. The altercation soon escalated into a brawl when the two allegedly assaulted the seller. During this, the boiling oil in the stall accidentally fell on the tea seller.

Consequently, the tea seller was severely injured and was immediately rushed to the Siliguri District Hospital. Meanwhile, the entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed in the area. Subsequently, a formal complaint against the two attackers has been lodged at the Panitanki Outpost. The police officials are engaged in further investigation based on the complaint.
