Bagdogra, 01st May: In a significant breakthrough, the police recovered a substantial quantity of foreign liquor from a hidden chamber in a truck. The incident led to the arrest of Ajay Kumar from Bihar and Zakirul Islam from Assam.
Police sources revealed that the foreign liquor was being smuggled from Assam to Bihar in a truck. Reportedly, the incident unfolded at Panighata junction in Bagdogra, where authorities stopped the truck suspected of carrying the contraband.
During the search, the authorities recovered a substantial quantity of foreign liquor concealed in a hidden chamber in the vehicle. Subsequently, the accused duo was arrested and later produced in the Siliguri Court on Wednesday.
