Two arrested with brown sugar worth crores in Siliguri

Siliguri, 27th October: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police and the cops of Matigara police station arrested two individuals with brown sugar worth crores of rupees. The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjit Saha and Imam Hussain.


Reportedly, Sanjit and Imam arrived from Murshidabad at Siliguri’s Vishwas Colony under the Matigara police station, in Siliguri, with a significant quantity of brown sugar. Acting on a tip-off, the SOG launched a joint operation with Matigara police station and successfully apprehended Sanjit and Imam.

During the subsequent search, 414 grams of brown sugar was recovered from their possession. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be in crores. Following this, Matigara Police arrested both the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused are likely to be produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday.
