Siliguri, 14th September: Based on a tip-off, the Panitanki outpost police of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, on Sunday night, launched operations at Airview more and arrested two people along with 10 kgs of cannabis. The arrested accused have been identified as Nimai Barui and Balaram Mandal. Both are reportedly residents of Cooch Behar.
It has been learned that the two men reached Siliguri from Cooch Behar for the purpose of smuggling cannabis.
According to police sources, a case has been filed against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The arrested accused individuals were produced before the Siliguri court today. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
