Naxalbari, 23rd November: A distressing incident unfolded in the Ord Tea Estate in Naxalbari where a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by two miscreants. This incident led to the arrest of accused Niten Oraon and Sumesh Sauria, both residents of the Belgachi area of Naxalbari.
As per reports, on Wednesday night, the victim was allegedly lured by the accused youths who then escorted her to a secluded part of the tea garden and sexually assaulted her. After the incident, the victim somehow managed to escape the situation.
Following this, the victim’s family filed a written complaint at the Naxalbari police station, prompting the immediate arrest of both the accused. On Thursday, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Court.
