Two arrested on charge of toto theft in Siliguri, toto recovered

Siliguri, 29th September: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Bhakti Nagar police station arrested two individuals on charge of toto (e-rickshaw) theft from Subhash Nagar area of Ward No. 40 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The arrested accused have been identified as Suman Pal and Prasanjit Saha.


As per reports, on September 27 night, a toto was stolen from a residence in the Subhash Nagar area of Ward No. 40. After the incident, the owner filed a complaint at the Bhakti Nagar police station the next day. Based on the complaint, Bhakti Nagar police launched an investigation and arrested Suman Pal on charges of theft.

Upon interrogating the accused, police recovered the toto from the Eastern Bypass area. Simultaneously, Prasanjit Saha was also arrested on the charge of buying stolen batteries. Following this, four stolen batteries were retrieved by the police.


According to police sources, both the arrested thieves are residents of the Jyoti Nagar area of SMC’s Ward No. 40. On Friday, both the accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court.
