Siliguri, 04th November: The Beer Republic, a pub located in a famous shopping mall under the jurisdiction of the Matigara police station, has been accused of defying administrative orders and keeping the pub open till late on Friday night.
Upon receiving the news, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Matigara police launched a joint operation and arrested Beer Republic manager Ashok Rai along with his employee, Shankar Roy. On Saturday, both the accused were produced before the Siliguri court.
According to police sources, strict action will be taken against the owner of Beer Republic for allegedly operating the pub against government guidelines. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation.
