Two arrested in Siliguri for morphing and circulating obscene photographs of girls

Siliguri, 16th September: A disturbing incident has come to light in Siliguri, where two youths have been arrested for taking photos of girls without their consent, morphing them into obscene images, and circulating them on social media.


The accused, identified as Raju Sah (29) and Snehashis Soren (23), both residents of Dhaknikata and Narmada Bagan areas under Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, have been charged with illegal photography and morphing of images.

The two were reportedly using advanced technology to alter photos of unsuspecting girls and women, transforming them into inappropriate content before making them viral on various social media platforms. The situation escalated when a girl, upon discovering the misuse of her image, investigated and uncovered the full extent of the activity.


On Sunday morning, Raju and Snehashis were spotted attempting to photograph girls near Sri Guru Vidyamandir High School. Local residents, alerted to their activities, apprehended them before they could proceed. The locals then assaulted the accused and handed them over to the Pradhan Nagar police.

The police have confiscated the mobile phones of the two individuals and sent them to Kolkata for further examination. An investigation into the entire case is currently underway.
