Siliguri, 24th November: Two individuals were arrested in separate operations on Saturday night in connection with the ongoing Tab scam. The arrests were made by the Bidhan Nagar Cyber Crime Police. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mehboob Hossain, a resident of Naukaghat, and Prabir Das from Alipurduar.
The first arrest occurred in the Naukaghat area of Siliguri, where Mehboob Hossain was detained. Hossain worked as an accountant in Siliguri. Police sources revealed that a large sum of money related to the scam had been transferred into his bank account. Following this, he was arrested by the Bidhan Nagar Cyber Crime Police. On Sunday, the accused will be presented in the Jalpaiguri court for transit remand.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, Prabir Das was arrested by the same police team from Alipurduar. The growing complexity of the scam is raising concerns, and investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the fraud.
The police are probing the scam, and more arrests may follow as the investigation proceeds.
