Siliguri, 1st January: The undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police station arrested two thieves for stealing gas cylinder and water pump from a school. The arrested accused have been identified as Shambhu Biswas (29) and Vikas Barman (20), both residents of Siliguri’s Samar Nagar area.
According to information received from police sources, on December 22 night, miscreants escaped after stealing by breaking the lock of the mid-day meal space of a government school in Champasari. Following this, a written complaint was lodged by the school management at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Based on the complaint, the undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police station launched an investigation and arrested both the accused from their residences in the Samar Nagar area on Sunday night. Additionally, the police also recovered the stolen gas cylinder and water pump from the houses of both the accused. On Monday, both the accused have been presented before the Siliguri court. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation.
