Two arrested for e-rickshaw theft in Kharibari, vehicle recovered

Kharibari, 30th May: The Kharibari Police have arrested two individuals involved in the theft of an e-rickshaw and successfully recovered the stolen vehicle. The arrested accused are Mithun Singha, a resident of Bagha Jote in Kharibari, and Chitra Singha, a resident of Dudhgate.


According to reports, businessman Nripen Pramanik had parked his e-rickshaw near the community hall in Kharibari market on Monday. When he returned to collect the vehicle after closing his shop, he found it missing. After an unsuccessful search, Pramanik filed a complaint at Kharibari Police Station.

Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation, which led to the recovery of the e-rickshaw from Panitanki, near the Nepal border. The two thieves were apprehended in connection with the theft.


The accused were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Friday, and the police have remanded them for further investigation to determine if others were involved.

Meanwhile, businessman Nripen Pramanik expressed his gratitude to the Kharibari Police for recovering his e-rickshaw.
