Two arrested for a unique attempt at cattle smuggling in Fulbari

Fulbari, 19th December: Two individuals were arrested with 20 cows and buffaloes in the Gathma Bari area, near Fulbari. The cattle, which were being smuggled from Bihar to Assam, were reportedly concealed beneath layers of dust and coal sacks.


Acting on a tip-off, the officials from NJP police station conducted a raid in the area and intercepted the truck filled with cattle. The truck driver and his assistant were arrested by the police in connection with the incident. Both suspects are scheduled to be produced on Friday before the Jalpaiguri District Court.

The police continue to investigate the smuggling racket, which involves illegal transportation of cattle across state borders.
