Siliguri, 12th December: Two accused have been arrested while one remains absconding in a loot incident targeting a youth in Siliguri. The case came to light when three miscreants stopped a young man returning home from work and looted him.
As per information, on 10th December, Abhijit Ghosh was returning home at night from work. When he reached near Tarachand Maidan on Shiv Mangal School Road, three miscreants suddenly blocked his path. The attackers looted a mini sound box, ATM card, wallet, and Rs. 7,000 in cash from Abhijit before fleeing the spot.
On 11th December, Abhijeet filed a complaint at Bhakti Nagar Police Station. Based on the complaint, on Thursday night police in plain clothes arrested two accused from the Sarkar Para Road area.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohit Seva and Dev Singh, both residents of the Bhakti Nagar Police Station area.
However, one accused is still absconding. Police produced both arrested individuals before the Jalpaiguri Court on Friday and sought remand. Efforts are underway to trace the third accused, and further investigation is ongoing.
