Siliguri, 28th July: A turtle was rescued on Monday from the river near Jaleswari Market, adjacent to Siliguri Eastern Bypass.
As per reports, several workers working behind a shop in Jaleswari Market spotted the turtle in the river and promptly rescued it. The incident was later reported to the forest department.
Upon hearing the news, locals gathered in a crowd at the scene to catch a glimpse of the turtle. Forest officials from the Dabgram Range arrived and successfully rescued the turtle.
