Siliguri, 02nd May: A major road accident occurred on Thursday night at Chiriya More near Kadamtala under Matigara Police Station, where a truck loaded with tea leaves lost control and collided with an ambulance and another four-wheeler parked on the roadside.
As per local sources, the truck suffered a brake failure, leading to the collision. The impact caused the four-wheeler to fall into a roadside drain, while the truck overturned in the middle of the road. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
Upon receiving the information, officials from Bagdogra Traffic Guard and Matigara Police Station reached the spot. The damaged vehicles were later removed with the help of a crane. Matigara Police are investigating the matter.
