Rajganj, 29th December: The SC–OBC cell of the Trinamool Congress organised a protest rally and public meeting in Rajganj on Monday, opposing what it described as the BJP government’s policies of repression and the SIR process.
The rally was led by Jalpaiguri district Trinamool Congress SC–OBC cell president Krishna Das. It began from Kaliaganj in the Patkata area under the Rajganj Assembly constituency and concluded at the Denguajhar Tea Garden. Thousands of party workers and supporters participated in the procession.
Following the rally, a public meeting was held at Targhera ground, where several leaders addressed the gathering. Speakers included Trinamool Congress SC–OBC cell state president Dr Tapas Mondal and district president Krishna Das, who criticised the BJP government’s policies and raised concerns over the SIR issue.
Among those present at the meeting were Trinamool Congress Jalpaiguri district president Mahua Gop, SC–OBC cell district president Pinaki Biswas, Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad education Karmadhyaksha Pranayita Das, Sadar-2 block president Arjun Das, along with other party leaders and members.
