Trinamool Mahila Congress organizes procession in Siliguri demanding Aparajita Bill enactment

Siliguri, 04th December: The Darjeeling District Trinamool Mahila Congress organized a procession in Siliguri on Saturday, demanding the immediate enactment of the Aparajita Bill.

The procession began at Mahatma Gandhi More and concluded at Hashmi Chowk, with Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Papiya Ghosh leading the event. Several Trinamool workers and supporters also participated.

Papiya Ghosh stated that the Aparajita Bill was passed in the state assembly by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on September 3. However, despite four months having passed, the bill has not become law due to the lack of presidential assent.

She emphasized that the bill is crucial for the protection of women and cautioned that if it is not enacted soon, a larger movement will be launched to push for its implementation.
