Naxalbari, 15th December: The Trinamool Autorickshaw Union staged a protest at Naxalbari Satvaiya Toll Plaza against the increase in toll tax on city autorickshaws.
The drivers said that initially, the tax rate had increased from Rs 10 to Rs 25. Now it has further increased to Rs 45. In other toll plazas, vehicles are plying with a tax of Rs 325 per month. Hence, a protest was staged today.
On the other hand, the toll plaza in charge said that although the National Highway authorities have issued instructions to put fast tags on vehicles, no tags have been applied yet. Earlier too, toll plazas were vandalized due to an increase in toll tax.
