Rajganj, 22nd May: On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, a tree plantation programme was held in Rajganj today. Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Roy and Rajganj Panchayat Samiti president Purnima Roy planted more than 100 trees at the Malivita Anganwadi Center under the initiative of Malivita Women’s Self-Help Group.
Purnima Roy stated that such an initiative has been taken on behalf of the State government and more such initiatives will be adopted in the future.
Panchayat Samiti member Rupali Dey, Shikarpur Anchal Pradhan Ranjita Roy, and many other dignitaries were present during the programme.
The International Day for Biological Diversity is a United Nations-sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues and is observed on May 22.
