Bagdogra, 18th July: On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, a tree plantation program was organized in the forest area adjacent to Junglee Baba Mandir, under Bagdogra Range, towards Kurseong Forest Division.
It has been reported that Van Mahotsav is being observed statewide from July 14 to July 20, with approximately 25 lakh saplings set to be planted across the state to mark this occasion. The event saw the presence of Sameer Gajmer, the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kurseong Harikrishnan PJ, Assistant Divisional Forest Officer (ADFO) Bhupen Biswakarma, Ranger Samiran Raj from Bagdogra Forest Department, the Principal of Bagdogra College, professors, Bagdogra Police, Army officials, and students from various schools.
CCF Sameer Gajmer, speaking about the event, mentioned that approximately 25 lakh trees are currently being planted worldwide. The program was successfully carried out with the collective cooperation of all participants present at the event.
