Siliguri, 29th July: In a commendable initiative led by the Niswarth Seva Manch and supported by the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), 50 fruit saplings were planted at the Surya Sen Park on Monday.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing the greenery of Surya Sen Park in Siliguri. As a result, the saplings were planted to help maintain a balance in the environment. The saplings will grow and bear fruits that will sustain the local wildlife, including the birds and other animals.
The event was graced by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, and members of the Niswarth Seva Manch. Mayor Gautam Deb emphasized that the Niswarth Seva Manch is continuously working towards environmental preservation. He further encouraged everyone to participate in efforts to beautify the city.
