Tragic road accident in Sangkhola of Sikkim, 2 killed, 4 injured

Sikkim, 18th May: A tragic incident surfaced where a taxi (SK01 TA 1626) met with an accident at Sangkhola near Singtam on Saturday morning at around 5 a.m. Sources revealed that the vehicle, with six occupants, on its way from Siliguri to Gangtok, plunged into the Rani Khola River.


Reportedly, two occupants lost their lives in the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Rabindra Nath Paul (72) from Kolkata and the driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained.

The deceased bodies have been recovered, while the other four injured have been rescued and transported to Singtam hospital for medical care. Police sources revealed that all the occupants of the vehicle are residents of Kolkata, including a four-year-old girl.
