Rajganj, 07th February: In the early hours of Saturday, a tragic road accident claimed the lives of two college students and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred on the Ambari-Hati More road near Tutbagan under Rajganj police station.
According to local sources, three youths were travelling on a motorcycle from Ambari towards Hati More when it collided with a large container at Tutbagan. Locals alleged that the container had been stranded on the road since the previous night, blocking a significant portion of the road. Dense fog in the morning reportedly prevented the motorcyclist from noticing the vehicle, leading to the collision.
Two youths, identified as Karnadeb Mandal of Dangapara in Magradanga and Shubhasish Oraon of Ambari, died on the spot. The third youth, Dipankar Majumdar, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
Rajganj police reached the spot soon after receiving information and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
