Siliguri, 18th July: After the body of the fifth victim arrived at his residence in Milanpally on Tuesday afternoon, several people broke down into tears.
Reportedly, Raj Singh (Ronaldo), a resident of Milanpally, took off to Lataguri along with his friends. They then allegedly headed towards Kurseong that very evening. However, all five lost their lives after their car lost control near Kargil Dara and fell off a 600-700 feet high cliff. After carrying out search operations, the police recovered the bodies as well as the car in a severely damaged condition.
While four bodies were recovered by Monday noon, Raj Singh’s body was recovered on Monday evening. The body was handed over to the family on Tuesday after an autopsy. The body was taken to Babupara Boys Club to pay the last respects.
It has been learned that Raj loved to play football since childhood. His loved ones often called him ‘Ronaldo’ after the famous footballer. The club members, as well as his friends, paid homage to the young heart by keeping a football jersey and football over his corpse.
