Traffic police conduct fresh drive in Siliguri to ease congestion and clear footpaths

Siliguri, 16th December: The traffic department of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police conducted a fresh enforcement drive on Tuesday to keep the city free from traffic congestion and footpath encroachment. The drive was carried out at key locations including Jhankar More, Jalpaiguri More and the Naukaghat area.


The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, along with the Jalpaiguri More Traffic OC and traffic police personnel. During the drive, strict action was taken against illegally parked vehicles that were obstructing the flow of traffic.

Traffic officials also instructed shopkeepers who were carrying out business by encroaching on footpaths to immediately vacate the space and conduct their activities within designated areas.


DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahmed stated that such drives would continue in the coming days to ensure smoother traffic movement and maintain public convenience across the city.
