Naxalbari, 04th August: Hundreds of goods-laden trucks were left stranded on the national highway in Naxalbari due to no-entry restrictions imposed by traffic authorities to manage the heavy rush of Shiva devotees during the Shravan month.
To alleviate the difficulties faced by drivers, the Naxalbari Traffic Guard stepped in to provide food and bathing facilities. The restrictions were put in place from the night before to avoid accidents amid the large influx of pilgrims.
As a result, long lines of halted trucks stretched along both sides of the highway.
The helpful initiative by the Naxalbari Traffic Guard brought relief to the stranded drivers, who appreciated the support.
Naxalbari Traffic Guard OC Sameer Ghosh stated that the trucks would be allowed to move once the no-entry is lifted at 8 p.m.
