Siliguri, 04th December: The traffic department in Siliguri has been conducting continuous drives across the city for several days, targeting violations such as illegal encroachment on footpaths, parking areas, and roads.
After carrying out operations over the past two days on Eastern Bypass, Bidhan Road, and Hill Cart Road, the traffic department conducted a special drive today at Court More. Prior to the operation, Traffic DCP Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed had warned shopkeepers to remove encroachments from footpaths and roads.
Despite the warnings, some shopkeepers continued selling goods on footpaths and roads. During today’s drive, the traffic department seized the items being sold in violation of the rules.
