Traders shutdown Bidhan Market for 24-hour demanding ownership rights

Siliguri, 16th August: The Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samity, on Wednesday, executed a 24-hour shutdown of Bidhan Market, asserting their demand for complete ownership rights of all shops located within Siliguri’s Bidhan Market. All the traders and businessmen of Bidhan market carried out a mass procession on the main road of Siliguri with festoons and placards.


The procession kicked off from Bidhan Road, tracing its path through various routes, including Hashmi Chowk (Venus More), Sevoke More, and Panitanki More, eventually concluding at Bidhan Market. In this context, Bapi Saha, the Secretary of the Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samity, expressed that in response to the 62-year-long deprivation faced by Bidhan Market, a rally was organized, accompanied by a 24-hour market closure.
