Alipurduar, 03rd January: The start of the New Year has witnessed an increase in tourists visiting Kodalbasti, located within the forests of Jaldapara in Alipurduar district. Tourists are thrilled to catch glimpses of wild animals such as elephants, rhinoceroses, and bison in the area. The significant rise in tourists has brought smiles to the faces of local tourism operators.
Kodalbasti is a small village surrounded by the dense Jaldapara forest that has become a popular destination. The Kodalbasti Eco-Tourism Center has seen a large number of visitors, with daily safaris and elephant rides running four times a day. Tourists can frequently spot elephants and other wild animals in the area as the location is surrounded by dense forest.
Tourism operators are pleased with the growing number of visitors. The rise in tourism has relieved the businessmen in the locality as traditional farming in the area has nearly ceased due to the frequent elephant rampage. Consequently, businessmen are solely dependent on tourism.
