Siliguri, 31st July: All registered and unregistered e-rickshaws (Toto) have been banned on national and state roads as per the court’s order. Despite this, many totos are still spotted plying on the roads defying the laws.
Gearing up for strict implementation of the order, the traffic police launched a stringent campaign against any violators in various areas including Darjeeling More and Noukaghat More. The traffic police stopped detained several totos near Noukaghat More and kept them in custody till noon. The vehicles were later released without any legal action against the drivers.
