Cooch Behar, 30th September: A tragic incident unfolded in the Kurla area of Gobrachhara Nayarhat Anchal under Dinhata Block-II where a toto (e-rickshaw) driver lost his life after being hit by a four-wheeler. The deceased has been identified as Saidul Mian.
According to reports, early on Saturday morning, a four-wheeler rammed into a toto. The accident left the driver Saidul severely injured. Immediately, the locals rescued him and rushed to Dinhata Divisional Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead. Meanwhile, the locals stopped the four-wheeler and informed the matter to the police. Upon receiving the news, Dinhata police arrived at the spot and took the vehicle into custody.
In this regard, the locals alleged that the four-wheeler was moving at a high speed. Upon search, intoxicating substances have been retrieved from the vehicle. At present, police are engaged in further investigation.
