Siliguri, 17th May: Amidst the rising outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19, the state government has extended lockdown from May 16 to May 30. In regard to this, the police conducted Naka checking at Hashmi Chowk to ensure strict lockdown.
Reportedly, the police booked a Toto driver Samarjit Sarkar for violating the lockdown norms. While being questioned the said Toto driver said that he was returning from the hospital after dropping off the passengers. However, the police officials doubted the story and took the custody of the said toto driver and toto.
