TMYC protests alleging corruption in recruitment of temporary staff of NBMCH

Siliguri, 28th August: The Trinamool Youth Congress (TMYC) of Matigara Zone I staged a protest alleging corruption in the recruitment of temporary staff at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). The protest was carried out in front of the residence of the Superintendent of NBMCH.

As per reports, the demonstrators alleged that the hiring agencies had tendered the recruitment excluding the local unemployed youth in favour of hiring employees from outside. Additionally, they claimed that the recruitment process was corrupt and demanded a transparent hiring procedure to be followed while providing the local unemployed youths the topmost preference.

In this regard, Sanjay Mallick, Superintendent of NBMCH, explained that the temporary staff were not hired directly but through a tender process. Furthermore, he stated that the staff added to the NBMCH were through a procedure maintained by the tendered agency.
