Naxalbari, 18th March: TMC candidate Sankar Malakar on Wednesday began his election campaign from a tea garden in Naxalbari, a day after his name was announced as the party’s candidate.
Malakar has been fielded from the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency. Soon after the announcement, he visited workers at the Atal Tea Garden in Naxalbari and sought their support. He also took part in a rally along with tea garden workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Malakar said that the development initiatives and welfare schemes of Mamata Banerjee’s government have reached every household. He alleged that the BJP MLA has failed to deliver work in the area and expressed confidence that the BJP will be wiped out in the upcoming election.
