Siliguri, 13th October: The Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress Women Wing staged a rally in Siliguri to protest against the Hathras incident.
The rally commenced from MG More (Airview More) and concluded at Hashmi Chowk (Venus More). State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, State President of Women’s Trinamool Congress Chandrima Bhattacharya, and other party workers were present today.
Bhattacharya accused the role of the central government regarding the heinous incident. She raised questions concerning the silence of the PM in this matter. She added that the protest march has been organized to raise voices against the way Dalit girls are being persecuted in BJP-ruled states.
