Naxalbari, 17th August: The Naxalbari Block II Trinamool Congress (TMC) held a rally on Saturday, demanding the arrest and death penalty for those responsible in the rape and murder case of a female doctor at R.G. Kar Hospital.
The rally, which began at the party office in Naxalbari, passed through various areas including Panighata More before concluding at the same location. The protest was organized following Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s directive to expedite the investigation, with a deadline given to the CBI to identify and punish the culprits by Sunday.
Block President Prithvisha Roy announced that further protests will take place on Sunday to continue pressing for justice. Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh also demanded severe punishment for those involved in this brutal crime.
