TMC stages protest rally in Siliguri against various policies of Centre

Siliguri, 08th September: The Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress staged a protest rally in Siliguri against various policies of the central government.


Reportedly, the rally commenced from Baghajatin Park in Siliguri and concluded at MG Chowk (Airview More) after touring Hashmi Chowk and Hill cart road area. Towards the end of the rally, the protestors burnt effigy of PM Narendra Modi.

TMC Darjeeling District spokesperson Bedabrata Dutta made various demands and allegations against the Centre. He accused the Centre of not providing proper GST to the state government and alleged conspiracies to create an economic crisis in the state. He also alleged that various government agencies are being privatized.


Reportedly, hundreds of TMC leaders and activists as well as the district committee members were present during the rally today. Strict police surveillance was also kept to prevent any untoward incident.
