Rajganj, 29th October: The TMC Fulbari-2 Anchal Committee, on Thursday, staged a road blockade in Fulbari demanding speedy repair of the National Highway.
Dilip Roy, committee chairman, said that the construction work of the four-lane national highway is under process. However, the road work from Fulbari to Jatiyakali and the 6-km road work till Mahananda Barrage has been stopped for the past six months. As a result, the general public is facing a lot of difficulties while travelling.
Roy accused the BJP government of deliberately interrupting the work and further warned of staging larger demonstrations if the roads are not repaired immediately.
Rabiul Karim, TMC Anchal President, alleged that people faced several difficulties during Durga Puja due to the pitiful condition of the roads. The protestors lifted the blockade after an hour of demonstration.
