Siliguri, 01st February: A protest was staged by the Trinamool Congress Hill Cart Road Footpath Vyavasayi Samiti at the Panitanki More, today, against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA).
During the event, the Trinamool Congress leaders strongly condemned the NRC and the CAA as well as the Central Government. The Trinamool leaders stated that the NRC and CAA was anti-people law.
All the leaders called upon the general public to continuously oppose the law. The No. 1 Town President Sanjay Pathak, Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress General Secretary Milan Dutta, Mahila President Sushmita Sengupta, and many other activists were present.
