TMC manifesto doesn’t bother to mention any North Bengal’s issues they are going to resolve or develop: Raju Bista

Siliguri, 04th April: While the assembly election is just around the corner, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) welcomed new members in various places of the region on Sunday.

As per the information, the party inducted Panchayat Pradhan and leaders from other political parties in the presence of Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and MP Raju Bista in Naxalbari. Likewise, in Kalimpong, new members were inducted into the party by National Secretary Arvind Menon and the party’s candidate for Kalimpong assembly constituency seat Suva Pradhan. New members were also welcomed by Darjeeling district President Dr Kalyan Dewan and B. P. Bajgain, the party’s candidate for Kurseong assembly constituency, in Phuguri Mirik.

A prominent youth leader from Mirik, Arun Ghising, also joined BJP along with his supporters. In a statement released by MP Raju Bista, he acknowledged the sincere and selfless work of Arun Ghising towards the welfare of the Gorkha community.

“…despite facing immense atrocities from TMC police, he did not give up his fight for justice. He brings with him the depth of experiences of working at the grassroots level. His skills and knowledge will help strengthen our BJP pariwar further,” the statement read.

Taking a jibe at the Trinamool, MP Bista wrote that the TMC did not even “bother” to mention any specific issues of North Bengal that they are going to resolve or develop. Accusing the succeeding state governments run by Congress, CPIM and TMC of discriminating the people of Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars and the rest of North Bengal for generations, the MP asserted that the BJP has made Darjeeling hills, Siliguri, Terai and Dooars and rest of North Bengal a priority area, whereby all issues confronting the region will be taken up and resolved on a fast-track mode.

Maintaining that the people from the grassroots are connecting with BJP, bestowing their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and trusting BJP’s commitment and vision, MP Raju Bista urged all, especially the youths to join hands with the saffron party to work towards securing the future of the people and the region.
