TMC leaders launch drive to identify ‘ghost voters’ in Rajganj

Rajganj, 10th March: Trinamool (TMC) leaders have begun a door-to-door campaign to identify ‘ghost voters’ in compliance with instructions from the Chief Minister. This voter list verification drive is being conducted across the state.


As per reports, on Monday, TMC Rajganj Block President Arindam Banerjee, Youth President Tushar Kanti Dutta, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, and other local leaders participated in this initiative. They inspected the voter list at the Kamarbhita booth in Ambari under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj.

Regarding the initiative, TMC Block President Arindam Banerjee mentioned that efforts to identify ‘ghost voters’ have been ongoing in different parts of Rajganj block for the past few days. On Monday, a similar verification drive was conducted at the Kamarbhita booth.


He revealed that several discrepancies were identified during the process. Some voters were found registered in multiple locations, while others had their names listed twice. Additionally, certain deceased individuals’ names were still present in the voter list.

Banerjee further stated that more than a hundred such names have already been reported to the district leadership. The campaign to locate ‘ghost voters’ will continue.
