Siliguri, 07th March: All India Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, on Friday, announced the names of 291 candidates who will be contesting in the much-anticipated state assembly election. As per the list, Om Prakash Mishra has been declared as the candidate for the Siliguri assembly.
Trinamool leader Nantu Paul, addressing the media, had expressed his displeasure over Om Prakash Mishra being selected as the Siliguri assembly candidate.
Paul, on Sunday, interacted with the state TMC leaders during the roadshow in Siliguri. Following which, he declared to contest the assembly election as an independent candidate. He further said that although he has been asked to not join any other party, he will decide regarding it after holding proper discussions.
