Siliguri, 11th December: During a press conference, Ashok Bhattacharya accused the BJP of using the Darjeeling Hills as a weapon to gather its vote bank. And that now, the ruling party Trinamool Congress is also pursuing the same path.
Bhattacharya blamed the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allowing fugitive GJM leader Bimal Gurung to reappear in public and attend a massive public meeting under the umbrella of the administrative officials, despite having numerous existing cases filed against him.
The CPI(M) leader further accused Mamata Banerjee of trying to divide Bengal with the help of Bimal Gurung to keep her vote bank intact. He demanded the agreement between Gurung and CM to be made public.
Besides, during a press conference, Ashok Bhattacharya also demanded that elections be held in the state’s municipality and sub-divisional councils.
