Siliguri, 07th April: Tension prevailed in Siliguri’s Ward No. 10 after allegations surfaced that Trinamool Congress party flags were torn and thrown into a drain in the Nabin Sen Road area.
Upon receiving information, TMC candidate Gautam Deb reached the spot and voiced objection over the incident.
Deb alleged that BJP workers were behind the act, claiming it was carried out under the cover of darkness due to fear of electoral defeat. He further stated that such actions were attempts to create unrest in Siliguri ahead of the elections.
He said that a complaint would be lodged with the administration and demanded strict action against those responsible. Deb also emphasized the need for peaceful elections and urged authorities to take appropriate legal measures.
