TMC Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma accused of harassing Primary School Council Chairman, WBTPTA holds protest rally

Siliguri, 22nd April: The West Bengal Trinamool Primary Teachers’ Association (WBTPTA) staged a protest rally in Siliguri demanding action against Trinamool Congress Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma, who has been accused of harassing Dilip Kumar Roy, Chairman of the Primary School Council.


The controversy erupted on Monday following a dispute over the alleged illegal transfer of a teacher from primary to upper primary level. Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma reportedly gheraoed the council office and threatened Chairman Roy during a heated exchange regarding the issue, leading to significant unrest.

The incident has drawn widespread criticism, with many questioning the conduct of the councillor and his appropriateness as a public representative.


In response, WBTPTA organised a protest rally on Tuesday. The rally commenced from in front of Siliguri College and proceeded to the Primary School Council office, where the teachers met with Chairman Dilip Kumar Roy.
