Siliguri, 29th March: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Gopal Lama from Darjeeling Lok Sabha Constituency campaigned in several wards under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Friday. The campaign was initiated after the candidate had filed his nomination papers a day prior. Notably, campaigning is currently underway including the hills and the plains ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
According to reports, candidate Gopal Lama campaigned in several areas of SMC. During the campaign, the candidate was accompanied by Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh. After offering prayers at a temple, the campaign was held in several areas including Gurung Basti.
In this regard, Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh stated that CM Mamata Banerjee has a positive influence in the hills and also in the plains, and the public is in her support. She added that the general public is leading the upcoming election for which victory is certain.
