TMC candidate Gautam Deb campaigns in Siliguri’s Ward No. 46, assures action on local issues

Siliguri, 08th April: Trinamool Congress candidate Gautam Deb carried out election campaigning in Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Wednesday.

During the campaign, light rainfall led to waterlogging in several parts of the area. Observing the situation, Deb immediately contacted engineers from the spot and directed them to take necessary steps for quick resolution of the issue. He also listened to residents’ concerns, including problems related to drinking water, and assured appropriate action.

Deb stated that the area is facing issues related to drinking water and infrastructure. He added that steps are being taken to address these concerns and announced that construction work for a bridge in the area is likely to begin by the end of May or early June.

Meanwhile, local residents alleged that leaders and ministers rarely visit the area except during elections. They highlighted long-standing issues such as the lack of a bridge, unclean drains, poor drainage systems, and shortage of drinking water. Residents also complained that despite having drains in some areas, irregular cleaning leads to waterlogging during rainfall.
