Siliguri, 20th August: The police of Khalpara Outpost apprehended three thieves within 24 hours of their crime, recovering stolen goods. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ganesh Pandey, Pankaj Roy, and Vishal Basfor. While Pankaj Roy hails from South Ambedkar under Siliguri’s Ward No. 01, the other two suspects are residents of an area under Khalpara Outpost.
As per reports, the theft occurred on the night of August 18, when an outdoor AC unit was stolen from an office in the Mahananda Para area. A written complaint was subsequently lodged at Khalpara Outpost, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
Based on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and caught the three suspects attempting to sell the stolen item on Vivekananda Road late Monday night. The accused were presented in Siliguri court on Tuesday. The investigation into the case is currently underway.
