Siliguri, 31st December: The Bhakti Nagar police successfully arrested three miscreants for allegedly carrying out a series of scooty thefts and recovered four stolen vehicles. The accused have been identified as Pritam Mandal, a resident of NJP’S Gatebazar, and Bijay Roy and Rajen Roy from Sitala Para.
According to police sources, three of the vehicles were stolen from Sevoke Road in Siliguri about a few days ago. After filing the complaint, accused Pritam Mandal was identified while investigating the CCTV footage installed in the adjacent locations. The accused was subsequently arrested and interrogated. During the interrogation, the authorities found out that the individual was a member of the scooty theft ring. Meanwhile, the names of Vijay Roy and Rajen Roy surfaced who were later arrested.
Following further inquiry, the stolen vehicles were promptly recovered, and the arrested accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri Court on Sunday. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
