Siliguri, 10th December: The Pradhan Nagar police station arrested three individuals on Monday night who were planning a major crime. The arrested accused have been identified as Biki Sarkar, Ajit Oraon, and Jhantu Mandal.
According to police sources, a gang of 10-12 people had gathered under the Kuli Para Mahananda Bridge in Ward No. 01 with intentions of committing a crime. Upon receiving a tip-off, the undercover police of Pradhan Nagar police station launched a raid and arrested the three miscreants. However, many of the other gang members fled upon learning about the police presence.
Several sharp weapons were recovered from the arrested individuals. The police are now searching for the absconding criminals.
The three arrested miscreants were presented in Siliguri court on Tuesday, and the police are continuing to investigate the matter.
